Treatment/ Services

We provide different advanced treatment options depending on the diagnosis

OPD consultation

OPD is the first contact point of patient with doctor. During consultation a detailed history of pain complaint is listened followed by clinical examination to reach provisional diagnosis. To confirm the diagnosis and formulate treatment plan few investigations like ultrasound, x-ray, MRI or blood investigation may be advised.

If you are suffering from acute or chronic pain in back, knee shoulder hand ankle hip or nerve pain, don't suffer. Take a consultation first, Many patient suffers because of lack of diagnosis. Understanding the disease is the first step of treatment. Discuss with Dr Chatterjee about the available treatment options which is best suitable for you.

Ultrasound guided MIPSI

MIPSI is minimally invasive pain and spine intervention. Depending on your diagnosis you may require a target specific injection to the pain generator area in your body. For example you may need steroid injection in an inflamed joint, or PRP therapy around a injured tendon, or a nerve block around a painful nerve.

The main advantage of using Ultrasound guidance over non guided blind injections are: it gives complete visualization of the needle path, the target tissue and the drug delivery. It is extremely important to do under guidance to precisely deliver medicine at exact pain generator for best outcome and prevent failure. Dr Chatterjee routinely uses ultrasound guidance for MIPSI.

Fluoroscopy guided MIPSI

Some of the procedure are more advanced and require Fluoroscopy guidance to guide the needle to reach its target point where the medicine needs to be delivered.

For example, many spine intervention for back pain, sciatica requires medicine to be delivered inside the spinal canal which is difficult in blind technique.

Fluoroscopy gives advantage over blind technique by providing better visualization of the needle path and better overall success rate and lessen risk of complication.

Platelet rich plasma therapy

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a concentrated solution of platelets derived from a patient's own blood. It's used in regenerative medicine to accelerate healing and reduce inflammation.

How it works:

  • Platelets are rich ingrowth factors that stimulate tissue repair, healing and regeneration.

  • A blood sample is drawn from the patient, processed to separate and concentrate platelets, and then injected into the injured area under ultrasound guidance.

  • This concentrated platelet solution promotes healing and reduces pain.

Application:

  • Musculoskeletal injuries: Effective in treating tendinosis, ligament sprains, and muscle strains, partial tear.

  • Osteoarthritis: Can alleviate pain and improve joint function in early-stage osteoarthritis.

  • Chronic pain conditions: Shows promise in managing chronic pain, but more research is needed.

Post procedure advice:

  • You need to take rest for at least 7 days to help in repair and healing.

  • You can expect temporary increased pain and swelling for 3-5 days after injection. Please follow your doctor's advice.
